Development and Communications Director
Coming to us from Greater Ottawa County United Way’s Development Team, and as a Grand Haven native, Alexa is very familiar with the needs and generosity of West Michigan. Alexa graduated with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science from Michigan State University with high honors in 2015. In 2018, she graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University with an M.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies, specializing in Multicultural Communication. Alexa also earned a certification as a Major Gifts Scholar from the Veritus Major Gifts Academy in 2019. Alexa is particularly passionate about community involvement. She is a Grand Haven Human Relations Commissioner, on the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance Membership Committee, on the Mosaic Counseling Board of Directors, and on the Lakeshore Disability Network's Ability Award Selection Committee. Alexa also enjoys bringing awareness to social and racial inequalities, learning new things, and having in-depth conversations with those that think differently from herself.
