Julian Lugo

Case Coordinator

Although born in Grand Rapids, Holland has always been Julian’s home. An outspoken survivor of childhood sexual abuse at six years old, Julian’s journey of self-acceptance, healing, and a passion to pass that journey onto other children, brought Julian back to the CAC. Julian is very passionate about his Latin heritage, as well as being an advocate for the Latinx community. He enjoys serving all children and young adults while providing hope and support to families struggling with the pain of sexual and physical abuse. Julian is a former TRIO Upward Bound Alum, recipient of the Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland Area Promise Scholarship, and just recently graduated from Hope College in May 2020 with a Composite Bachelor of Arts Degree that specializes in Fine Arts, Ministry, and Psychology. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones, outdoors with nature, drinking lots of coffee, practicing self-care, and bringing awareness to several issues including child welfare, religion, racial injustice and LGBTQ+ inclusion. Julian hopes to pursue an MSW in the future, but looks forward to gaining experience in general, and specifically with casework to better process what his focus will be.
