Youth Advocacy Team

What is the Youth Advocacy Team (YAT)?

The Youth Advocacy Team (YAT) is comprised of teens throughout Ottawa County who are passionate about supporting survivors of child sexual abuse and spreading awareness in the community. YAT's purpose is to provide insight regarding impacts on the lives of Ottawa County youth, as well as how the Children's Advocacy Center can better serve the community.

This is an opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills while making a lasting impact on our community, and in the lives of children affected by sexual/physical abuse.

Benefits of Joining the Youth Advocacy Team:

  • Develop a service project to help children and youth in the community

  • Gain leadership and project management skills

  • Meet and build relationships with other Ottawa County teens from different schools

  • Be decision makers for youth issues, needs, and opportunities
